You Get What You Inspect, Not What You Expect!

Thanks to Peter Sinclair, from Outasight Enterprises, for his summary of an article on delegation by Bob Gass, ‘Getting things done!’ http://www.motivationalmemo.com
’Here’s a clue as to whether or not you’ll get the results you’re hoping for. If the person you’re instructing doesn’t carry a pen and paper and make notes – look out! They’re suffering from a case of over-confidence, they haven’t understood the importance of what you’ve said, or your future is at the mercy of their memory.· Don’t give the same instructions to two different people. When everybody’s responsible – nobody’s responsible.
’Writing things down is a discipline that makes us precise and productive!
’How can you prioritise what you can’t memorise? Without writing it down, how can you set realistic deadlines, measure progress, report back or complete one thing while other things are still in the works?
’If you want results, do these three things:
- Don’t give the same instructions to two different people. When everybody’s responsible- nobody’s responsible.
- Note when you gave the instructions, and require them to report back to you at a specific time. You build morale by recognising and rewarding good performance.
- Only give instructions to someone who’s qualified to carry them out. If you try to teach a pig to sing, you’ll just aggravate the pig and waste your own time too.
‘Seventy-five percent of all success is not in good management, but in the selection of the right people.’

Hey this was probably one of the most intelligent blurbs I’ve had the chance to go over on the topic so far. I do not understand where you get all of your information but keep it coming! I am going to send a few people to this site to check this out. Amazing, totally awesome. I’m have just started getting into writing articles myself, nothing close to your writing potential (doh) but I’d love for you to check out my stuff sometime!
